1st day: Journey 
with the ICE from Duesseldorf to Frankfurt-airport.
1st flight: Frankfurt-Toronto, 2nd flight: Toronto-Vancouver
First overnight stay at Sandman Inn, Downtown Vancouver

2nd day: Vancouver/BC
Exploring Vancouver
Gastown with its world famous steamclock,
Waterfront-Railway Station and Canada Place at the harbour,
Harbour Centre with "the Lookout" at 169 m height.
Shopping streets, i.e. Robson Street
2nd overnight stay at Sandman Inn

3rd day: Vancouver/BC Seattle/WA

Sightseeing-tour in Vancouver: Gastown, Canada Place and Stanley Park.
After that the journey continued on to Seattle/Washington/United States.
Visit of Pikes Place Market. Then a sightseeing-tour.
Ride with the Monorail to the Space Needle.
3rd overnight stay at  ,Seattle.

4th day: Seattle/WA Mount Rainier - Portland/OR

Drive through Tacuma to Mount Rainier National Park.
Then on to the Visitor Center at Mount St. Helens.
At our days destination Portland followed a short sightseeing-tour..
4th overnight stay at Double Tree, Portland

5th day: Portland/OR Boise/ID

Drive at the bank of Columbia River. A short stop at the Vista House Crown Point above the Columbia River Gorge.
Journey contiued over Pendleton to Boise.
5th overnight stay at , Boise

6th day: Boise/ID Jackson/WY

Journey to Twin Falls/Idaho. Short break at the Snake River Bridge.
Then on to the Shoshone Falls, also called the "Niagara of the West".
Picnic at "Craters of the Moon" National Monument.
Drive over the Teton-Pass to Jackson Hole.
6th overnight stay at Days Inn, Jackson Hole.

7th day: Jackson/WY Yellowstone National Park/WY

On-hour touring through Jackson. Then drive to Grand Teton NP. From there to Yellowstone-Nationalpark.
7th overnight at Best Western, West Yellowstone.

8th day: Yellowstone Nationalpark/WY

First stop at Gibbon-Waterfall, second stop at Mammoth Hot Springs.
Midday break at Canyon Village. Then to Artist Point at Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
Small hiking-tour at Fountain Paint Pods. Last stop at Old Faithful, from there back to the hotel.
8th overnight stay at Best Western, West Yellowstone

9th day: Yellowstone National Park/WY Kalispell/MT

First stop in Ennis/Montana. Then another short break in Butte. Lunch break at Southgate Mall in Missoula.
Journey continues, passing Flathead Lake to our days destination Kalispell lying on the border to Glacier Nationalpark.
9th overnight stay at  , Kalispell

10th day: Kalispell/MT Banff/AB

First stop in Glacier N.P. at Apgar Visitor Center. Drive over a scenic route outside along Glacier Park. The originial tour-route "Going to the Sun Road" was closed. Lunch break at Glacier Park Lodge. Shortly after lunch we crossed the border into Alberta, Canada.
We passed Calgary for a stop at the Olympic Parc.
Then through the Rocky Mountains to Banff, our destination for today. Late afternoon a stroll through this beautiful city.
10th overnight stay at  , Banff

11th day: Banff/AB Jasper/AB

Drive to Lake Louise, which was partially topped with ice. Then on to the far more beautiful Moraine Lake, in the Valley of the Ten Peaks.
Journey goes on over Icefields Parkway to Jasper. Photostop at Bow Lake. Next break at Athabasca-Glacier with the Columbia-Icefields.
Then to the Sunwapta-Waterfalls and to the Athabasca-fall. Finally we reached our destination Jasper and did a shopping-tour in town.
11th overnight stay at Jasper Inn, Jasper

12.Tag: Jasper National Park/AB

First stops at Patricia Lake and Pyramid Lake, then at Maligne Lake. From there we went to Maligne Canyon. Here we took a 1-hour hiking tour. After that back to Jasper. A small part of the group made an extra trip to Jasper Tramway. From the top of the mountain we had a wonderful view of the whole area. Afterwards back to the hotel in town.
12th overnight stay at Jasper Inn, Jasper

13th day: Jasper/AB Kamloops/BC

Journey to Mount Robson Park with first stop at Mount Robson, highest peak of the Canadian Rocky's.
Then to Wells Gray Park at Clearwater with a stroll to Spahats-Waterfall.
Then Lunch break at Dutch Lake Resort. From there via Kamloops to our destination for today, the Lac Le Jeune Resort.
13th overnight stay at Lac Le Jeune Resort

14th day: Kamloops/BC Vancouver/BC

Last day of the bustour.
First stop at Kamloops Lake. Then a coffee break at Cash Creek. Journey continues along Thompson River till the point where Thompson and Fraser River meet at Lytton. Then stop at the old Alexandra Bridge.
There, a few of us had the big luck to see the world famous scenic train Rocky Mountaineer. The machinist even used his horn to greet us. It was great!
Lunch break in Hope, then to Vancouver to our Hotel Sandman Inn Downtown.
Here we said goodby to our driver and musician Ken and our tourguide Caroline.
This was the end of the tour.
14th overnight stay at Sandman Inn, Vancouver

15th day: Exploring Vancouver

Stroll through Chinatown, then again to Gastown.
In the afternoon to the harbour and Canada Place.

16th day: Victoria + Butchart Gardens

In the morning we were picked-up at the Hotel with a Mini-Bus from Landsea Tours. With the Mini-Bus to Tsawwassen and on board the ferry to Vancouver Island. The journey with the Spirit of Vancouver Island lasted 1½ hours. Then with the bus to Victoria to the Inner Harbour. Here we had three hours time to spend.
A round-stroll at the harbour with a visit of the Empress Hotel and a visit of the Royal British Columbia Museum.

Then sightseeing: Market Place, Chinatown; Bay Centre and back to the Inner Harbour.
With our bus the tour goes on to Butchart Gardens.

Here we had 1½ hours time to have a look around.
Late afternoon drive back to the ferry harbour. Swartz bay. After 1½ hours arrival in Tsawwassen, from where our bus took us back to our hotel.
16th overnight stay at Sandman Inn

17th day: North Vancouver /Capilano
From our hotel we strolled down to Waterfront Station.
Bay-crossing with the Seabus to North-Vancouver.
There we took the bus to Capilano Park, where we made our first trip across world famous Capilano Suspension Bridge.
On the other side of the park we tried  the newest attraction "Treetops Adventure", there you go over many small suspension bridges high above the ground from tree to tree, like a squirrel.

After that back to the Waterfront, where we took the Seabus back to Vancouver. Then we strolled back to our hotel.
17th overnight stay at Sandman Inn

18th day (June 1st): Departure:

Early in the morning a van taxi brought us to the airport. We were lucky that we could check our baggage right through to Frankfurt, so that in Toronto we didn't have to worry about that.
The first flight was from Vancouver to Toronto, and the second from there to Frankfurt.

18/19th day Mi. (June 2nd): Arrival:

The arrival in Frankfurt was at 9:00 a.m. CET.
From there we took the ICE to Cologne.

From Cologne with a short distance train to Rheydt,
and from there with a van taxi nback to our home in Wegberg.

Arrival in Wegberg at 13:00 pm.
